What went on at the Love London Blog Event
It was a full house at the Love London Blog Event hosted at the swanky members-only club and restaurant Le Peep Boutique in Mayfair, London, on 7 May.
The evening started with a chance to network with fellow bloggers and agencies over wine, fruit cocktails and cupcakes. This was followed by four bite-sized speaker sessions featuring pros from the blogosphere inluding Hayley Carr author of London Beauty Queen, one of the UK’s top beauty blogs; Muireann Carey Campbell of fitness blog, Bangs and a Bun, listed by the Telegraph as one of the ’42 Awesome Women You Need in Your Life on Twitter‘; Katy Horwood, author of All Sweetness & Life – a dating and relationship advice blog. Katy also blogs regularly for The Metro, Huffington Post and Match.com, and is a regular on both BBC and LBC Radio; and Rebecca Brown, content manager for Bloggers Lounge, an online forum that connects bloggers and brands. Sharing the success stories of their individual blogs , the speakers went on to offer tips and advice on what it takes to make blogging a full-time career and how bloggers should go about it.
JJ Miller author of Love London Blog, host and organiser of the event thanked the audience for the great turnout and for supporting the social cause behind the event which was to help raise funds for Trinity Hospice in Clapham in memory of blogger and author Lisa Lynch. Lisa is best known for her candid blog Alright Tit, which led to a book and a BBC drama starring Sheridan Smith.
The hashtag #LLBlogEvent on Twitter captured some of the best moments and highlights of the evening:
Really interesting chat with fellow bloggers about newsletters and how to use them at last night’s #LLBlogEvent. Doing some research today!
