- Peter Horrocks, director of the BBC World Service Group, has announced that he will be leaving the BBC in the new year. Peter has been director of the World Service since 2009 and has worked at the BBC for 33 years
- Time Inc. today announced it is rebranding its wholly-owned UK publishing arm IPC Media to Time Inc. UK.
- Charles Spencer, the Daily Telegraph’s theatre critic, is retiring after 25 years on the paper
- Rebecca Black has been appointed education correspondent at Belfast Telegraph
- Scarborough News is relocating from its current Aberdeen Walk offices to premises on the Scarborough Business Park, Newchase Court, Hopper Hill Road, Scarborough YO11 3YS
- Graham Miller, formerly with the Wishaw Press, has been appointed editor of the Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser. He replaces Gordon Robertson who has now joined the Daily Record
- David Broome has been appointed as the new sports editor at the Staffordshire Newsletter
Fashion, Lifestyle & Entertainment
- Carolyn Asome has been appointed acting fashion editor at The Times, following the departure of Laura Craik. Carolyn was previously deputy fashion editor at the title
- ELLE Wedding magazine goes on sale for the first time in the UK on 9 September. Published by Hearst Magazines UK, the magazine is on sale for £7
- DC Thomson has announced the launch of a new monthly children’s magazine. The title, 110% Gaming, is aimed at eight to 12 year-old kids and focuses on multi-platform gaming and entertainment
- Archant Lifestyle’s France Magazine has unveiled its new look and announced new columnists joining the team including Sir Terry Wogan and Clotilde Dusoulier
- Andy Morris has announced via Twitter that he has been appointed as the new editor at GIGWISE
- Perfect Wedding has unveiled a fresh new look for its October 2014 issue, following a comprehensive redesign. Rachel Avery has been appointed editorial assistant at the publication.
- The Lady has promoted Sam Taylor from features editor to deputy editor of the magazine, while Fiona Hicks has been appointed contributing editor across print and digital

- James Evison has joined The Publican’s Morning Advertiser as web editor, the publication announced via Twitter
- Kate Mackenzie has confirmed via Twitter that she has left her role as FT Alphaville’s Asia Correspondent
- Bryony Waite has been appointed reporter at Insurance Age

Peter Judge has been appointed as the new global editor at DatacenterDynamics FOCUS
