• Nazia Parveen, the Daily Mail’s north-west correspondent, is to join the Guardian as correspondent for the north of England with the creation of a new Manchester hub. Josh Halliday, a staffer in the London office, is relocating to take the role of correspondent. Guardian digital trainee, Frances Perraudin, will join the team as a reporter
• Sophie Curtis has announced via Twitter that she leaving the Daily Telegraph to join the Daily Mirror as online technology editor.
• Suzanne Lord has been appointed news intake editor at STV
• John Siddle has been appointed news content editor at the Liverpool Echo. He was previously crime reporter at the title
• Simon Binns has been appointed What’s On editor at the M.E.N.
• Sion Morgan has been appointed assistant content editor across the South Wales Echo, Western Mail, Wales on Sunday titles and WalesOnline
• Dan O’Donoghue has been appointed senior reporter at the Newcastle Chronicle, joining from M.E.N Media.
• Enda Mullen has been appointed business and development agenda writer at the Coventry Telegraph. He was previously a reporter at the Birmingham Mail and Birmingham Post
• David McPhee has been appointed reporter at the Oban Times
• Colin Channon has been appointed editor at the Oswestry & County Borders Advertizer
• Richard Batson has left his role editor at the North Norfolk News
• Mike Jarvis has left his role news editor at the Cornish Guardian
