- Cristina Nicolotti Squires has been appointed director of content at Sky News. Currently editor at Channel 5 News, she starts her new role in January
- Matt Frei is joining LBC to host a brand new Saturday morning show from 10am. He will combine this with his current role as Channel 4 News’ Europe editor
- City Matters a new free hyperlocal newspaper has launched covering news from around the City of London and is edited by Tom Oxtoby
- Wyvex Media and Scottish Provincial Press have reached agreement on the merger of the Lochaber News into a new look West Highland edition of the Oban Times and the transfer of Lochaber Life magazine to Wyvex Media. As a result of the agreement the last edition of Lochaber News will be published on 29 September. The following week a new-look Oban Times West Highland edition will be published incorporating the best content from the Lochaber News, additional news and sports pages from Lochaber, as well as news from across the wider west Highlands and Argyll
- Stuart Rust has been appointed Witney & West Oxfordshire reporter at the Oxford Mail
- Adam John has been appointed reporter at the Kent and Sussex Courier
- James Whale has announced he is to leave BBC Essex tomorrow. He will continue to present a Saturday show on BBC Radio Kent
- Steve Austins is to leave his role as editor at BBC Radio Wales later in the autumn
- Paul Scoins has left his role as political reporter at BBC Three Counties Radio

- The Times has announced the return of LUXX magazine with Jeremy Langmead returning as its editor in chief. The glossy magazine launches on 3rd December with 4 editions a year
- Jennifer Ward has been appointed editor at Sew magazine
- Kirsty Doolan has been appointed editor at PRO Hair & Beauty
- Ben Olsen has started his role as UK Editor at HYPEBEAST
- Alison Millington has been appointed lifestyle editor at BUSINESS INSIDER UK
- Ella Alexander has been appointed deputy digital editor at Harper’s Bazaar. She was previously fashion features editor at Glamour
- Jack Hart has been appointed staff writer at Trail Running. He was previously junior fashion editor at Men’s Health
- Rima Barakeh has been appointed editorial assistant at hitched.co.uk
- Moya Lothian-McLean has been appointed editorial assistant at Stylist
Business and finance
- Trinity Mirror North West has launched a new free monthly business publication, Business Post. The title is edited by Alistair Houghton
- Maria McGeoghan has been appointed editor at BQ North West. A former editor of the Manchester Evening News she takes over the role when the title launches in mid-November. The new North West edition will cover Manchester, Liverpool, Lancashire and Cheshire
- Simon Keegan has been appointed the new editor at North West Business Insider. He takes up his role on 23 September
- Sally Norton has been appointed editor at Gifts Today magazine. She replaces former editor Sarah Welsh who has left the title
- Yusuf Tamanna has been appointed reporter at Mortgage Solutions
- Manny Pham has been appointed reporter at Mobile News. He was previously a reporter at What Mobile
- Emanuela Barbiroglio has been appointed data journalist at Property Week
- Emily Cadman has left her role as UK economics reporter at the Financial Times. She is moving to Sydney and set to join Bloomberg Australia
- Jonathan Williams has left his role as deputy news editor at Investment & Pensions Europe

- Max Langridge and Adrian Willings have both been appointed contributing editors at Pocket-lint
- Emma Boyle has been appointed writer at techradar
