• Hywel Griffith has been appointed Australia and New Zealand correspondent at BBC News. Griffith, currently Wales correspondent at BBC News, will start the role in September
• Liz Hazelton has been appointed associate editor at Mirror Online. She was previously deputy editor at Mail Online
• Andrew Bardsley has been appointed city centre reporter at the Manchester Evening News. He was previously a senior reporter at the Bolton News
• Ellie House has been appointed features writer at the Press and Journal (Aberdeen). She was previously a digital journalist at the Daily Record
• Franki Berry has been appointed reporter across the Saffron Walden Reporter and Dunmow Broadcast titles
• Ryan O’Donovan has been appointed sports journalist at Get Hampshire
• Newsquest’s Eastbourne Independent has ceased publication. The weekly free title was launched in September 2015

Fashion, lifestyle and entertainment

• Chelsea Magazine Company has acquired Wedding Ideas magazine. Wedding Ideas founder Rachel Southwood remains with the title as editor in chief. It joins Chelsea Magazine Company’s Lifestyle & Parenting portfolio of brands alongside Baby London, Baby Hampshire, Baby Surrey, Little London and Independent School Parent
• Uncut magazine has a new look. The title now features an expanded reviews section catering in the latest music releases and offers more pages of expert critique. It will also have a greater focus on new music
• Leah Hyslop has been appointed food director at Sainsbury’s Magazine. She was previously food editor on the lifestyle section at the Daily Telegraph
• There have been a couple of changes at Harper’s Bazaar and Town & Country magazines. Katy Young has been appointed beauty director, Sian Ranscombe has been appointed beauty editor and Becki Murray is now beauty assistant at these titles
• Richard Ingram is now reviews editor at Auto Express. He was previously news editor at the title
• Cyan Turan has been appointed features writer at Red Magazine. She was previously features writer at Fabulous
• Molly Coughlan has been appointed fashion and editorial assistant at You & Your Wedding
• Cycling Active has published its final issue. The title was launched in September 2009

Business and finance 

• David Hellier has been appointed UK business reporter at Bloomberg News. He was previously the editor of City A.M
• Hannah Uttley is now senior reporter and features editor at Mortgage Solutions. She was previously senior reporter at the website
• Hazel Sheffield has left her role as business editor at the INDEPENDENT
