- Ian Prior has been appointed digital editor at The Guardian. He was previously head of sport at the paper. Also at the publication, Nick Davies has left his role as special correspondent
- Richard Spencer has been appointed Middle East correspondent at The Times. Previously at the Daily Telegraph, he will move to Beirut later in the month
- Aimee Meade has been appointed deputy blogs editor at Huffington Post UK
- Thomas McIlroy has been appointed sports reporter at Daily Star Online
- Marc Meneaud has left his role as North of England reporter at the Sunday Post
Fashion, lifestyle and entertainment
- Haymarket Media Group has agreed to sell its motorsport brands and related events activity to Motorsport Network, the specialist online US motor racing content and events company. Haymarket’s motorsport division, part of the group’s consumer media division, comprises a portfolio of specialist brands that include Autosport, Autosport.com, the Autosport Awards, F1 Racing (the UK edition plus 14 international licensed editions), Motorsport News, motorsport photographic agency LAT and the Autosport International Show. Around 70 Haymarket employees on the group’s motorsport titles are expected to transfer to the new owners
- Fiona Embleton has been appointed senior beauty editor at Marie Claire. She was previously acting beauty editor at Cosmopolitan. Also at the publication, Jessica Tarbard has been appointed fashion assistant replacing Sophia Stewart
- Sharmaine Lovegrove has been appointed literary editor at Elle
- Chloe Ryan has been appointed deputy editor at Great British Food
- Yvonne McKenzie has been appointed health editor at People’s Friend
- Katie Holloway has been appointed staff writer at We Love Pop
- Sian O’Donnell has been promoted to junior fashion stylist at Sunday Express’ S Magazine
- Delphine Chui has left her role as features editor at HELLO! Fashion Monthly to go freelance where she will be covering fashion, news, culture, lifestyle, travel, beauty, celebrity, technology and trends. She will be shifting at the online desk at Tatler throughout October and will be writing for publications like Refinery29, GQ, Glamour, The Debrief, Grazia, AskMen and The Telegraph
- Desmond Carrington has announced he is to leave BBC Radio 2 at the end of October. Carrington currently presents The Music Goes Round on Friday evenings
- Katy Birchall has left her role as deputy features editor at COUNTRY LIFE to become a full time author
- Katie Earlam has left her role as TV reporter at The Sun

- Paul Withers has been appointed editor at Mobile News replacing former editor Michael Garwood
- Rebecca Smith has been appointed reporter at City A.M. covering transport, infrastructure and workplace diversity. She was previously a senior reporter at PRWeek
- Mark Glover has been appointed news editor at Office Products International. He has most recently been assistant editor at Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) magazine. His appointment comes following the announcement that Andy Braithwaite, after eight editorial years at OPI, will be moving onto a new challenge on 18 October
- Abi Kay has been appointed chief reporter at Farmers Guardian
- Simon Neville has left his role as business editor at BuzzFeed UK to go freelance

- Victoria Turk has been appointed technology editor at the New Scientist. She was previously UK editor, Motherboard at Vice Media
- Sean Cleaver has been appointed deputy editor at Develop
- Anne-Claire Bouzanne has been appointed assistant practice and learning editor at Nursing Times
