News & current affairs 

• The Dundee Evening Telegraph is to launch a weekend edition, The Weekend Telegraph on 20 August
• Isabel Lloyd has been appointed culture editor at Newsweek Europe
• Kevin Bakhurst is to leave his role as deputy director general and managing director of news and current affairs at RTÉ in October
• Tim Vaughan is to leave his role as editor at the Irish Examiner in October
• David Marsh has retired from his role as production editor at the Guardian, while Matt Wells is to leave his role as senior digital editor at the paper at the end of this week
• There have been a couple of departures at the Belfast Telegraph. Linda Stewart and Victoria O’Hara have both left their roles as environment reporter and health correspondent respectively
• Johnny Craig has left his role as sports editor at the Inish Times
• Ryan Merriman has left his role as deputy news editor at the Nuneaton News

Fashion, lifestyle and entertainment 

• Rachel Bassett has been appointed fashion stylist and writer at the Daily Express. She was previously a fashion stylist at Woman, Essentials, Woman’s Weekly and Woman’s Own
• Tony Barrett has been appointed chief football writer at JOE.co.uk. He was previously Merseyside football writer at The Times
• Hannah Stacpoole has been appointed digital assistant at Tatler. She was previously digital intern at the title
• Max Williams has been appointed editorial assistant at Square Mile
• Sara Sesardić has left her role as a producer at BBC Radio 2 show Johnnie Walker’s Sounds of the 70s

Business and finance 

• Nicola Carruthers has been appointed staff writer at The Spirits Business. She joins from CAMRA where she was communications assistant. Also at the title, Amy Hopkins has been promoted to deputy editor from her previous role as news and web editor while Annie Hayes is now the news, web and social editor having previously been social media editor
• Tom Porter has been appointed senior reporter at International Financing Review. He was previously bank finance editor at GlobalCapital
• John Hewitt Jones has been appointed reporter at Mortgage Introducer
• Lucy Alderson has been appointed reporter at Construction News

Health, science and technology

• Steve McCaskill has been promoted to editor at TechWeek Europe. He was previously deputy editor at the website
• James Crichton-Smith has been appointed health reporter at ITV Wales
• Matt Fellows has been appointed deputy editor at Pharmafocus. He was previously a staff writer at Audio Media International
• Seth Barton and David Ludlow have left their roles as editor and head of content respectively at expertreviews
•  Alan Lu has left his role as reviews editor at IT PRO
