• The CN Group is ceasing publication of its ‘national’ newspaper 24. The title, which was launched in June, publishes its final edition today. No jobs will be lost due to the closure
• Brad Jones has been appointed editor at the Ipswich Star. Currently news editor at the East Anglian Daily Times he takes up his new position in the autumn
• Gael Stigant has been appointed head of news at the Yorkshire Evening Post. Currently deputy head of multimedia at the Star (Sheffield) she starts her new role on 1 August
• Daniel Hewitt has been appointed Westminster correspondent, covering the North at ITV News. Hewitt, currently a political correspondent at ITV Granada, starts the role at the end of August
• Katie French has been appointed political correspondent at the Express & Echo. She was previously a reporter at the Mid Devon Gazette
• Estel Farell-Roig has been appointed reporter at the South Wales Argus
• Arif Ansari is to leave his role as political editor at North West Tonight and presenter of Sunday Politics North West today
• Giles Dilnot has left BBC2’s Daily Politics to join Legatum Institute
• Jeff Travis has left his role as reporter at the News (Portsmouth)
• Graeme Lafferty has left his role as senior sports reporter at the Alloa Advertiser
• Radio Teesdale has closed after nearly 10 years on air due to a lack of funding
• Presenter Chelsea Norris has left Key 103’s Mike & Chelsea In The Morning breakfast show

Fashion, lifestyle and entertainment 

• Hearst Magazines has been awarded the publishing content account of jamie magazine. The new deal will see Hearst produce all of the editorial content for the magazine and sell advertising across Jamie magazine, as well as jamieoliver.com
• Samantha Silver has been promoted to beauty director at Stylist from her current role as beauty editor. Additionally Joanna McGarry, current associate editor (beauty), has been appointed beauty director at large. They start their roles on the 9th September
• Kendra Becker has been promoted to deputy editor at GOSS.ie. She was previously an entertainment reporter at the website
• Alexandra Friend has been appointed acting beauty editor at Red magazine
• Dominique Sisley has been promoted to news editor at Dazed. She was previously a staff writer at the title
• Katie Storey has been promoted to deputy web editor at Reveal. She was previously acting senior writer at the title
• Eamonn Crowe has been appointed news and online deputy editor at Squaremeal
• Rosie Percy has been appointed social content producer at TimeOut London
• Kiara Keane is now an online features reporter at OK! She was previously online news reporter at the title
• Abbie Skliarsky has been appointed beauty assistant at Marie Claire

• Adam McNestrie has been promoted to editor in chief at Insurance Insider from his previous role as editor
• Ashley Williams has been appointed multimedia reporter at British Baker
• Victoria McKeever and Darius McQuaid have been appointed reporters at Professional Adviser magazine

• Matthew Jarvis has been promoted to deputy editor at Develop from his previous role as senior staff writer
• Grace Lewis has been appointed news editor at Chemist+Druggist. She was previously a senior staff writer at People Management
• Chris Tapsell has been appointed guides writer at Eurogamer
